In the field of networking technology devices are identified by IP addresses. The IP address is a 32- or 128-bit number, known as IPv4 and IPv6 respectively. The IP addresses are unique in a single network, to allow for consistent communication. An IP address can help to determine the availability of the device connected, and Ping Tester is a tiny tool designed do to this job perfectly, together with little additional functions.

Ping Tester easily and effortlessly allows you to perform ping checks for one specific IP or a group of IP addresses. You can add individual IP addresses, groups of them and even URLs. This can be very useful during development work, when checking the responsiveness of different devices needs to be done frequently. Probably its handier feature is the “Schedule for IP scanning”. This function allows for periodic checks of a given set of IPs.

Ping Tester has a nice utility area, from where you can run some predefined DOS-based commands. The set of commands can be easily modified according to your needs. All DOS commands can be executed without leaving Windows.

Its reporting facilities allow you to save the results of the tests performed, which you can keep for future analysis. These reports can be exported into a text file or a CSV (comma-separated values) file. Finally, we need to mention its trace route test functionality, which is certainly an advantage for this tiny tool.
